Install Printer Canon Pixma iP 1980 di Mandriva 2009

ada dua file:

cnijfilter-common-3.00-1.i386.rpm dan cnijfilter-ip1900series-3.00-1.i386.rpm


Buka konsole, lalu jalankan perintah urpmi untuk menginstall kedua paket rpm diatas. urpmi dipilih ketimbang rpm -ivh karena urpmi dapat mendeteksi paket-paket dependency lain yang diperlukan untuk kemudian didownload serta diinstall otomatis dari repository. Berikut ilustrasi perintahnya :

Selanjutnya sistem akan mendownload dari repository file-file dependency yang dibutuhkan diatas. Pastikan komputer anda telah terhubung ke internet, dan repository online telah anda setting. Atau bila tidak terhubung ke internet, DVD repository mandriva telah anda siapkan dan setting dengan benar.

Langkah selanjutnya, klik configure your computer (mandriva control center) > Hardware > Set up the printer(s),..
Bila Anda baru pertama kali menjalankan maka akan muncul kotak dialog seperti pada Gambar 01 dibawah:

Klik install untuk mendownload dan menginstall paket yang diperlukan.

OK. bila sudah selesai, silahkan tancapkan kabel usb printer ip1980 dan hidupkan. Nanti otomatis Mandriva akan mendeteksi dan silahkan ikuti petunjuk dialog yang tertera pada layar Anda (Add printer).
